Portuguese sweet bread is an Easter tradition that became everyday in Hawaii.

Instructions

Dissolve yeast in warm water with 1 tsp sugar. Let foam.

Beat butter and remaining sugar. Add eggs one at a time.

Add yeast mixture, milk, and flour. Knead 10 minutes.

Let rise 2 hours until doubled. Punch down and shape into rounds.

Let rise 1 hour. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes.
