Pipikaula is Hawaiian beef jerky. Cowboys called it dried beef.

Instructions

    Slice beef into thin strips with the grain.

    Mix salt, soy sauce, sugar, ginger, and garlic. Rub into meat.

    Hang or lay on racks. Dry 24-48 hours in sun or dehydrator.

    Tip: Traditional method uses sun drying.

    Pan-fry or grill briefly before serving.
