Huli Huli Chicken
Our Family Story
Huli huli chicken was invented in 1955 by Ernest Morgado. The name comes from constantly turning the chicken on the grill.

Instructions

Combine all sauce ingredients in a saucepan, simmer until slightly thickened.

Reserve half the sauce for basting, marinate chicken in the other half.

Set up grill for indirect heat.

Grill chicken, flipping (huli) every 10 minutes, basting with sauce.
Tip: Huli means to turn in Hawaiian.

Cook until internal temp reaches 165°F, about 45 minutes.

Rest 5 minutes before serving.
